Through impressionistic figurative paintings, Mechner portrays the novelty of technology and invention within its most banal uses. With the rise of extremism occurring in her home countries coupled with rapid shifts in tech approaching, Mechner uses painting as an extension of the present. Painting registers the rapid evolution of history not as distant, monumental shifts but as something lived and absorbed in daily life.
